Though clearly what you're doing now is effective, be careful making huge investments into glyphs because it is an inevitably converging market. There are only 2 things that are keeping the list of very profitable glyphs up; 1) The ever present need to change glyphs anytime you change your gameplay (spec, pve, pvp, tank, heal, dps, etc) ... and 2) The availability (supply) of certain glyphs is at the mercy of scribes discovering them.  However, #1 drops considerably with dual-specs... and for #2;
inevitably every scribe will have every pattern so the supply will drastically increase. Since we all know that the quality of the glyph has almost nothing to do with the price (though obviously rare bad glyphs will be cheap because they're bad) it is clearly an issue of supply.

In the very long term, there will be no reason why any glyph would be priced much higher than the cost of the mats (other than just dumb luck with supply timing).

The only good thing that can derive from this is that ink supply aka herb supply is likely to drop. Players aren't leveling much anymore, they aren't out exposed to herb nodes, and more & more scribes are training. This will lead to less herbs supplied & more consumed = herb price goes up up up while you hold on to glyphs made from cheaper herbs.

It all sounds theoretical but its pretty basic logic given past experiences with trends like these.

True, but balance that with 3.1 making it so more herbs come from each Northrend herb node:

Northrend herbs now yield more herbs on average.
The time it takes to gather herbs has been reduced.

Yah, I'll probably drop the glyph thing after the initial 3.1 dual-spec glyph rush.

It's profitable, but it's kind of a hassle compared to just DEing/Prospecting/Cutting/etc things and that makes me more than enough gold already.
