LFG Way of leveling  (Read 478 times)

So, the new LFG system I found only recently that it's good for leveling. (especially a tank)

I dun usually have time to play alot nowadays, it's the usual 2 x daily random for my rogue and mage, and try to squeeze in some VOA weekly raids here and there.
So one very free day i decided to play my warrior.
While leveling outside from 20ish to 30, i deided to click on the LFG to see if it's applicable to low levels.
To my pleasent surprise it does! Call me slow and I'll admit it.
So tried tanking (good chance to have a feel of what tanking is like) and I get almost instant pops everytime.
It was really great, I level from LFG while camping in cities, and I get to go to old school instances =D

But I am missing out on exploring the old world again, which I was looking forward yet dreading about.
Anyone else leveling this way?

im leveling my rogue this way with a group of friends its great boa shoulders and chest plus fully rested because i never leave org very fast if you can instent cue and you have a group thats not afraid to pull more than 2 mobs at a time. we were doing scarlet library in 3 pulls boa gear makes it very easy

yulps, I have been doing the cathedral specifically as I didn't want Uldaman to pop lol
low levels I find as a tank, as long as the healer is comfy, I can pull 4-6 mobs at a go.

At the catheral, those mobs kneeling area, one hunter yesterday set his pet on rampage and I got 10 or more on me.
I was enjoying all the rage but that was one tough one. Still it was scaringly enjoyable that pull. Grin

A little while back I did exactly what you are doing now and I reached the same conclusion. Tanks have more fun with LFG. I took one of my warriors from his low 20s all the way up to 40+ with almost instant queue times as a tank (even though he was specced fury the whole time).

I had a much harder time finding queues for my low level DPS toons. I tried hard with my mage and my hunter but it just wasn't the same.

That being said, pretty much all my toons hit a dry spell around the dreaded 45-55 level range, which has been a dud spot in the leveling process for the longest time now.

I eventually decided to give up on leveling my army of low level alts and wait it out till the world is revamped in Cataclysm. Though I might make a focused effort a little before Cataclysm drops to get some of my mid ranged chars to outland, if for nothing else but to experience "original WoW" content one last time before it joins the likes of 40 man Naxx, 15 man UBRS and 10 man Scholomance in the great void where all forgotten content goes to die.

I totally agree lvl 45-55 is much dreaded.
Even for me lvl 40 now, 2 instances dread me a lot, Uldaman and Maraudon.
I love these 2 complexed one but not really keen to spend my time doing them. Next dreaded one will be ZF...
I am looking forwward to UBRS and LBRS tho. Maybe Dire Maul too, these are way fun!

So now after doing my other toons for 80 randoms, i would round off the night with tanking SM Cathedral.
Done it again yesterday afternoon, with a good grp I love tanking hordes and hordes of mobs in one pull. =D

i use a leveling guide on wow-pro.com,  so there's no such thing as a dry spell, i just throw instances in when they are convenient. and with the boa stuff/rested, man do you fly through the levels
