Check you actions bar spells to make sure they are the highest you have learnt.....obvious some will say and maybe it should be, however quite a while ago I checked mine to find that some of my spells were still at the lower level.
I had got so used to it updating every time I learnt the next level never thought to make sure....low and behold on some it had not Embarrassed

My experience was that with dual spec things won't always update. If you are in one spec and train, the other spec's hotkey bar won't update. This was a while back though so I am not sure if it isn't fixed now. Also, I find this mod is very useful:

Considering rankwatch, I wonder if it would have been possible in 2.x to catalog what a healer was casting, and thus bust them on not down-ranking enough. Apparently ranks will no longer exist in Cataclysm (nice for cutting down on the requirement for casters to train, it also makes things less spammy).

only problem with rankwatch is that for some fights i downrank to max dps. basicly on saurafang i use frostbolt rank 1 because it still applys enoph of a slow if theres not a hunter in the group. I use blastwave rank 1 because its cheap on mana and still dose the same nockback and daze time. im not useing either of them for there damage and thus there rank isnt importent.

every time i casted any of thease this week there was a guy in the group that whenever i did this it would wisper me put it in raid chat yell and say channel it. was realy anoying especily since i ment to do all of it.

Yeah Frostbolt Rank 1 is the only time it really ever makes sense to downrank because it has a shorter cast time. All ranks of all spells cost the same amount of mana since 3.0 to stop healers from having to/wanting to downrank heals. The only exception are casts like Frostbolt whose cast times change between early ranks.

Yea something that hits the spot in this topic for me,
Some of my toons, when I got a new rank , my spell book will only show the highest rank spell.
Whereas some will show all rank 1 to the highest spells.
How to get that sorted? might be the addons I dun know. Maybe the bartender?
The former will update my cast bars automatically but the latter will not.

Someone knows?

There is an option in the Spell book that allows you to turn on/off Show all spell ranks, just under the header of the spell book

oh wow im so bad i completely didnt realiser they were the same cost and i actuly whent and checked after.... good contribution on my part
