A Master of Karate and Friendship... For Everyone

Immersion is the third album from the UK-based, electronic rock group Pendulum. It came out May 24; I only found out about it last week, much to my chagrin. For anyone who hasn’t heard Pendulum’s music before, they are well known for two things: danceable up tempo beats and music loud enough to remind one of a powder keg going off. My first exposure to the band was the TF2 Mass AI video set to their 2008 single, “Propane Nightmares”, and I’ve been a fan since.
...

My first music post! Quite a long and arduous undertaking.

Pendulum has been used in a lot of CS movies (I believe).  They had a Prodigy remix in a Pubmaster movie for sure.

Now I really want to watch some CS.

Counter-Strike!  Don't make me feel older than I am!

Pubmasters Movie  I'm not sure if that's the one with the Prodigy remix or not. (Can't watch it now)

Fun video for anyone that played CS "competitively"

See I thought you meant Counterstrike, but it just seemed anachronistic given that CS is so old and Pendulum only released their first album in 2005.

Competitive CS was still in it's heyday in 2005.

Man, I remember when my bro was convinced he was going to get rich playing CS.

His team even got sponsored by a small/medium sized gaming store and they provided free top-end headphones, mice, all that jazz for their team, it was pretty damn cool.

The headphones especially...they were some $150 monstrosities that looked dumb as hell on your head. But as my bro put it, "These things are like cheating." because I guess they had like 5 speakers in each headphone to give this multi-directional effect. Basically it let you hear even the smallest footsteps and pinpoint their direction. Was pretty neat.

They never made a penny of acutal cash though. =(

LOL

I remember way back when gaming wasnt as big as it is now and my parents hated it ... but eventually started telling me, "i hear you can make money playing video games, you should at least make money doing it". laughed. if it were that easy everyone would be doing it ... and it consumes your life. no thanks, ill stick to recreational gaming.

my total winnings from gaming was a $100 best buy gift card from an SSBM tourney.

QB - you should tell her to take a read. I'd love some opinions from people who've listened to the album.

You beat me by $100.  I think the only other "winnings" I've had are drinking bets.
